We only use high-quality environmentally friendly biodegradable non-toxic ingredients in our Mist8 Spray. We would like to take this opportunity to educate consumers about why ingredient choice is important, both for the safety of the consumer and also for the safety of the environment.
Water, obviously, has no environmental or toxic impact. It’s also widely available.
Plant-derived cleaning agent. Not toxic on skin or if ingested.
This is one of our primary cleaning ingredients. A highly active, non-ionic surfactant containing no solvents or hydrotropes. According to the Environmental Working Group, Lauryl Poluglucose has a low concern rate of 0 on a scale of 0 to 10. It is a surfactant.
Similar to baking soda. Source of minerals. Not toxic on skin or if ingested.
This is a completely naturally occuring ingredient that helps often water and give our product a greater consistency. It’s so non-toxic that it’s often added to food.
Alkalinity booster. Safe for environment and not toxic in product use.
This is another of our primary cleaning ingredients. While inorganic (it’s chemically derived from Potassium), it’s completely safe during use and it biodegrades fully. The only concern with potassium hydroxide is that plants require potassium to survive and its cultivation may be causing plants to go deficient. Our potassium, however, is derived from a source rich in potassium, so this clause does not apply to our use.
Water softener. Made from corn sugars. Not toxic on skin or if ingested.
This organic ingredient is also used to soften water, among other small benefits. It’s environmentally friendly and is often found in the food industry as an additive.
Plant-derived cleaning agent. Made from corn sugars and coconut oil. Not toxic on skin or if ingested.
This ingredient is vey similar to the above Lauryl Polyglucoside. It, too, has an EWG score of 0 (from 0 to 10, lower numbers being better).
Emulsifies fragrance. Can cause mild skin irritation but not toxic in product use. Environmentally friendly and biodegradable.
This ingredient helps emulsify our fragrance oils, and really serves no other purpose than this. Completely non-toxic in product use – in large amounts it can be a skin irritant, but we use a very small amount (about 1% of the amount required to cause irritation, so unless you bathe in a tub full of our product, you should not notice any irritation).
Does not contain environmentally dangerous ingredients such as phthalates. Mostly natural essential oils. Not toxic on skin.
Many other products contain harmful additives simply for fragrance. We are baffled by this, since there are plenty of all-natural fragrance oils that smell great. Our oils are non-toxic, biodegradable, and mostly natural (those that are not natural are synthesized using entirely safe environmental means and may as well be natural).
Free of heavy metals and allergens. Effective at extremely low levels. Not toxic on skin.
Like with fragrance oils, many companies choose to use more powerful colors, at the expense of adding environmentally unfriendly or irritating ingredients. We use exclusively non-toxic colorants at extremely low levels.
Preservative. Effective at extremely low levels. Safe for environment and not toxic in product use.
Simply a preservative necessary because of our natural ingredients. It can be neurotoxic at high levels, but we use an extremely small quantity (it makes up about 0.0005% of the total product) that makes it 100% safe.
